  • Capturing the Genome Elements
necessary for systematic functional studies of large gene sets Reverse genetic approaches are extremely powerful and a prerequisite for in depth studies of gene function They include genetic perturbations such as ectopic expression gain of function knockdown loss of function and transcriptional and translational fusions to identify the domains of gene expression and protein localization In the framework of international consortia and in house collaborative efforts PSB has created several sequence repertoires necessary for large scale functional studies in Arabidopsis CATMA for transcript profiling AGRIKOLA for RNA interference SAP for the analysis of transcriptional networks focused ORFeomes for cloned based proteomics All these sequence repertoires GST ORF promoter are compatible with the Gateway recombinational cloning systems and can be shuttled between vectors designed for specific functional assays using robust HTP automated protocols These resources draw on the evolving gene and genome annotations they are components of the bioinformatics toolbox and they feed the research focusing on specific biological themes in dedicated groups by promoting the systematic analyses of gene functions e g protein protein interactions subcellular localization transcription domain loss of function phenotype Prev Next PSB Missions The Department Infrastructure Core Facilities International Projects Publications News Seminars About PSB PSB
